It is once again my favorite time of year!  The 2015 CrossFit Games have finally arrived, and it may be one of the most interesting years yet.  Competitors from all over the World have descended upon Carson, CA for several days of sweat, blood, and tears.  What started as a small competition made up of about 70 competitors in 2007 on a ranch in Aromas, CA, has blown up into a worldwide exhibition seeking the World's Fittest Man and Woman.   This year there are 3 ways to watch the Games (follow link for more info).

  1. Go online to watch the livestream of the entire Games on ESPN3 or YouTube.
  2. Turn on your TV to see 16.5 hours of coverage on ESPN and ESPN2.
  3. Buy a General Admission or Tennis Stadium Ticket on AXS.com.

The easiest way is to stream directly from the CrossFit Games website.  It connects directly to their YouTube channel.

Now that we have how to watch, we probably want to know what to watch!  The Games start today, July 21st, with the Teen Division and the Masters Division.  On Wednesday, July 22nd, the Individual and Team Competitions will start.

It is sure to be an exciting year with all the shake ups!  The Teen division will give us a glimpse into the future stars of the Games.  A new Men's Champion will be crowned since 4 time champion, Rich Froning, has retired from Individual to join Teams.  The Women's competition is going to be a true battle as the last 3 Women's Champions have all qualified this year.  But don't expect they will be the ones on the podium.  The rookies have shown they are fierce competitors not to be easily dismissed.  Several veterans are back, including Becca Voigt, who is competing her 8th time at the CrossFit Games.  One veteran to watch is Kara Webb.  She is back and looking for redemption after her untimely injury during last year's Games.  The Teams are stacked this year!  It will be intriguing to watch Rich Froning on CrossFit Mayhem Freedom, Jason Khalipa on NorCal CrossFit, Tommy Hackenbruk on Hack's Pack UTE, and Lauren Fisher and Rasmus Andersen on CrossFit Invictus.  Teams have not always drawn a big crowd, but I am sure with teams like these, people will be watching.  Last, but not least, the Master's Division may be some of the most inspiring people to watch.  They are impressive and remind me age is just a number.  How can you not be excited?!

Who do you expect to see on the podium this year?  Who is your favorite to watch?  What do you think will be the biggest surprise of the 2015 CrossFit Games?  Happy watching!
